Dutch suspect arrested in Copenhagen for 2022 double assault case, one victim died
A 28-year-old Dutch man wanted in Denmark for two violent assaults, including one in a hotel that left one man dead and a separate stabbing in an apartment in Copenhagen, was arrested Friday at Copenhagen Airport after arriving on a flight from Ethiopia, Danish police reported.
Danish police had been searching for the suspect, identified as Yahye Mohamed O., for several years in connection with the two incidents. A court ruled Friday that he must stay in pretrial detention for at least 25 days.
The first attack took place in a hotel in Copenhagen, where a 28-year-old victim suffered fatal injuries and died the following day.
In a second incident the same day, also in Copenhagen, another victim was stabbed with a knife in an apartment, where the assailant cut off the victim’s ears and slashed his cheek.
