Video: Man seriously hurt in stabbing at Rotterdam-Crooswijk apartment; Two arrested
A 38-year-old Rotterdam man was seriously wounded in a stabbing inside a home on Laanzichtstraat in Rotterdam-Crooswijk during the night from Saturday to Sunday, police said. A 31-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, both also from Rotterdam, were arrested. According to Rijnmond, residents and emergency responders described the home as a so-called “problem address” within the neighborhood, though police did not elaborate on what that involves.
Police received the emergency call at about 1:00 a.m. Witnesses reported hearing an argument and loud voices coming from the apartment shortly before the stabbing occurred. Authorities said it remains unclear what exactly happened inside the residence.
According to 112 correspondents, the incident took place in a fourth-floor apartment in a stairwell-access building. Besides the victim, inside the apartment, the arrested man and woman were allegedly present at the time of the stabbing.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man heavily bleeding inside the home. He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. A trauma helicopter was also dispatched to assist in his medical transport. The victim's current condition has not been released.
