Woman, 45, arrested after stabbing in Veendam home; Victim lightly injured

A person was stabbed Sunday morning inside a home on Middenweg in Veendam, leaving the victim with minor injuries and leading to the arrest of a 45-year-old local woman, RTV Noord reported.

Emergency services were called to the residence at around 6:45 a.m. after a report of a domestic argument. When officers arrived, they found that a stabbing had occurred inside the home.

The victim was treated at the scene for injuries described as light. Hospital transport was not required.

Police arrested a 45-year-old woman from Veendam at the location. Authorities said that the suspect and the victim know each other. Following the arrest, the suspect was taken for questioning.
