Parachutist dies in Rhoon after resuscitation fails
A parachutist died Sunday morning in Rhoon, Zuid-Holland, after an attempted resuscitation failed, Noordhollands Dagblad reports.
The incident began with a distress call and ended with the person being found dead on the Essendijk, with authorities currently treating it as an accident.
According to police, the first report came in at about 11:45 a.m. and involved a request for resuscitation. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene.
The police later confirmed that resuscitation efforts did not succeed, and the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
The parachutist was found with an open parachute, police said. The circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear. Investigators said they are still working to determine what happened, but they are currently assuming it was an accident.
