Police probe link in series of explosions at Badhoevedorp Turkish cultural center

Dutch police are investigating whether multiple explosions at a Turkish cultural center on Jan van Gentstraat in Badhoevedorp are connected, after three separate incidents at the same building within days, including two in one week.

The most recent explosion occurred Saturday at about 3:00 a.m. at a property on Jan van Gentstraat. No one was injured, but the building’s front facade was damaged. Police secured traces at the scene and are actively searching for suspects and their escape route.

Police say there was also an earlier explosion at the same building on April 14, 2026. Investigators are examining whether there is any connection between that incident and the later explosions.

A second explosion in the recent series occurred during the week, on Tuesday morning at around 5:00 a.m. at the same location. According to police information, surveillance footage shows two men arriving on a scooter, setting off an explosive device, and leaving the area.

In addition, in the night from Friday to Saturday, another explosive device detonated at the same building. Investigators have reported finding a plastic bottle at the scene that may have contained an explosive liquid.

Authorities are requesting CCTV footage, including from doorbell cameras and dashcams, from Jan van Gentstraat and surrounding streets. Tips can be submitted via the online tip form or by calling 0900-8844; anonymous reports can be made at 0800-7000.
