Man, 49, arrested on suspicion of producing, sharing images of child sexual abuse

A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of producing and distributing images of child sexual abuse.

The Public Prosecution Service reported that the man allegedly posed as another person to persuade young girls to share nude images of themselves.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, the case came to light after social media platforms reported the alleged misconduct to the police.

The man was arrested on Tuesday. Officers also seized data storage devices, including computers, hard drives, and multiple mobile phones.

“These are currently being investigated,” the Public Prosecution Service said Friday. The suspect’s pretrial detention was extended by two weeks on Friday.
