No overnight stranded passengers at Schiphol; Two flights canceled, 40+ delayed
Schiphol Airport expects no passengers to spend the night at the airport due to ongoing winter weather, and temporary beds set up for stranded travelers have been removed.
On Sunday, no other flights were canceled, though the flight to New Delhi was delayed. Only the flight to London Gatwick and an incoming flight from Kittilä were canceled. Over 40 other incoming flights are delayed.
Earlier, the airport confirmed that no passengers slept at Schiphol last night. During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, more than 1,000 travelers were forced to stay at the airport. On other nights this week, hundreds of people also spent the night in the terminal.
This week, thousands of flights at Schiphol have been canceled due to winter conditions. Planes that did operate faced delays while undergoing de-icing procedures. KLM has made no “proactive cancellations” for Monday.
