Husband arrested after wife found dead in Beuningen home
The suspect arrested after a body was found in a Beuningen home early Sunday has been identified as the victim’s husband, police confirmed. The deceased woman was the occupant of the residence on Lijnzaadveld.
Authorities responded to a report of a violent incident around 2:50 a.m. Officers arrived to find the woman deceased. Her husband, who also lives in the home, was taken into custody shortly afterward and remains in detention while being questioned.
Police said no other people were present in the house at the time. Two dogs inside the residence were unharmed and have been cared for.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death continues. Forensic specialists spent Sunday collecting evidence, interviewing neighbors, and speaking with other potential witnesses. The home remains under police cordon, and a forensic investigation vehicle continues to be stationed outside the residence.
“This violent incident has left a deep impact on the neighborhood and direct neighbors,” the police said. Authorities encouraged anyone who may have heard or seen anything in or around the home to come forward by calling 0900-8844.
