Some 4,000 Dutch Formula 1 fans heading to Abu Dhabi for Verstappen's world champ race
Formula 1 fans in the Netherlands are rushing to get their hands on the last available plane tickets to Abu Dhabi, where they hope to see Max Verstappen become world champion again. Nearly 4,000 fans already have tickets, the Telegraaf reports after speaking to travel companies.
Corendon and Stipreizen had approximately 3,500 tickets available for the Abu Dhabi race on December 7 and are both sold out. TUI, which had a few hundred, is also sold out.
“If people think Verstappen doesn’t have a chance, they don’t go. But because Max is catching up, our grandstand is now completely sold out. There’s only room left on the waiting list,” a Corendon spokesperson told the Telegraaf.
Visitors to the races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi will travel on regular flights. Corendon has purchased seats from Transavia, among others, for the last race in Abu Dhabi. Dutch fans will be transported to the race by bus.
TUI also offers trips to some race destinations, including Abu Dhabi. This year, for the first time, it is offering a combined trip to Qatar and Abu Dhabi. “In recent days, we’ve received emails and calls from several customers asking if there are any trips left to the last two Formula 1 races, but both are sold out,” a spokesperson told the newspaper. “We’re going to Qatar with a hundred people this weekend, and two hundred to Abu Dhabi.”
