Adjustments to gov't tax plan means €20 per month more for minimum wage earners
Netherlands residents earning minimum wage will have a slightly higher net income next year after all. According to new calculations by HR service provider Youforce, formerly Visma Raet, this amounts to between €10 and €20 per month, depending on the exact number of hours worked.
After Budget Day, the company had already calculated the tax plan for next year. At the time, it appeared that minimum wage earners would see a slight deterioration. That led to parliamentary questions, and the government made some adjustments. As a result, working Netherlands residents with a modal or higher income can expect slightly less progress than previously reported.
According to Youforce, Netherlands residents earning the minimum wage and working 20 hours per week will receive an additional €13.67 net per month. For a 36-hour week, this amounts to €12.75 extra. Minimum wage earners working 40 hours per week will get an additional €19.16 net monthly salary, bringing the total to €2,311.16.
According to Youforce, a modal income is currently €3,875 per month. Next year, this will increase by €34.67 per month. Previously, this group was expected to see an increase of €38.50 net per month.
Dutch people earning twice the modal income in 2025 can expect a net increase of €47.17 per month. In the calculations immediately after Budget Day, Youforce projected a €48.09 salary increase for this group.
The HR service provider stressed that the calculations are subject to any changes in pension contributions. The Senate and Parliament still need to vote on these changes.
