Shop owner stops burglars from stealing high-end perfumes in Hapert
A shop owner prevented burglars from escaping with expensive perfumes from her DA drugstore and perfumery on the Markt in Hapert early Friday morning after the thieves smashed the store’s glass front with sledgehammers, Omroep Brabant reports.
The owner was awakened by the noise and the alarm and went to investigate. Upon seeing her, the two fled, leaving their loot behind on the street in two large bags.
The suspects are both between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 tall and wore dark clothing during the incident. One suspect wore a cap and sunglasses and had black Nike shoes with air cushioning across the soles, according to police.
The break-in appeared well planned. The burglars had attached fake license plates to their car and covered the vehicle’s make with tape. Police conducted an extensive search in the area but were unable to locate the suspects. Authorities have secured the stolen goods and the vehicle.
