Police have found the car belonging to a 49-year-old woman from Hoofddorp who has been missing since Wednesday. Officers fear she may have been kidnapped, according to a statement. A photo of the woman has now been released, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The woman left her home on Mosselplaat in Hoofddorp around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, driving to her job in Beverwijk in a black BMW 530e. The car was later found in the Getsewoud-Noord district of Nieuw-Vennep, about a ten-minute drive from Mosselplaat.
NH Nieuws reported that a family living in a house on Oosterschelde, just two streets away, which was raided on Wednesday in connection with the disappearance, shares part of its last name with the woman.
The victim is 1.65 meters tall, has a light brown complexion, an average build, dark brown eyes, and long dark brown hair. She was wearing dark-colored clothing on October 8.
Following the report of her disappearance, "multiple investigative teams and a large-scale investigation team" have been working intensively to locate the woman. Authorities declined to say why they believe the woman may have been kidnapped.
Police have called for anyone with any camera footage, including ring door cameras or dashcam footage to come forward.
