Minor injured in Amsterdam West shooting, police investigate

A minor was injured Friday afternoon in a shooting on Hudsonstraat in the West district of Amsterdam, AT5 reported. The boy was conscious when taken to a hospital for treatment.

The first report of the shooting came in at 5:00 p.m., prompting police and multiple ambulances to respond. Police have not confirmed whether there is a suspect.

“It is a very complex case, so we are careful about which information we release,” a spokesperson said.

Authorities have cordoned off part of the street to conduct an investigation.
