Two men arrested for extorting hundreds through sex website Kinky.nl

The police arrested two men for scamming and extorting hundreds of victims through the sex website Kinky.nl. So far, only two victims have dared to press charges, the police said, urging other victims to come forward.

According to the police, the men, aged 30 and 35 from Hellevoetsluis and Spijkenisse, created fake profiles on the sex website and used these to obtain users’ contact information. They then contacted these users to extort money out of them, sometimes threatening violence and showing up and the victims’ homes.

Based on the ongoing investigation, the police believe the men victimized hundreds of people throughout the country, extorting tens of thousands of euros from them. “The fact that only two of the likely hundreds of victims are willing to report the crime is worrying,” the police said. “The police are urging victims to do so.”

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday and are still in custody. They will be arraigned on Friday, the police said.

The police also raided six properties in Rotterdam, Utrecht, Spijkenisse, Hellevoetsluis, and Brielle, seizing several thousand euros, two cars, and multiple mobile phones.
