Dutch health insurance premiums to rise 32–40 euros in 2026
Dutch health insurance premiums are expected to increase by 32 to 40 euros per year in 2026, according to ANP's government sources, following reports from leaked budget documents.
Officials are allegedly planning for a monthly premium of around 160 euros, three to four euros higher than current rates.
Health insurers will ultimately determine the exact amount policyholders pay, the sources said. The previous year saw a much sharper increase, with insurers charging 10 to 12 euros more per month than the year before.
Earlier government plans projected a larger rise of about 200 euros annually by 2027, linked to halving the mandatory deductible.
