Man dies after being rescued from lake near Lobith; no foul play suspected

A man died Saturday evening after being found in a lake near Lobith, a town in Gelderland, according to Dutch emergency services. Authorities received a report of a person in the water around 7:45 p.m.

Fire department personnel responded quickly and began resuscitation efforts at the scene. A trauma helicopter was also deployed, but the man could not be saved, according to RTL.

“A resuscitation attempt was made, but unfortunately it was unsuccessful,” a fire service spokesperson said.

Police confirmed that they do not suspect foul play. The exact cause of the incident remains unclear.
