Chilly wet Saturday and sunny Sunday ahead for the Netherlands this weekend
The Netherlands is entering its last month of meteorological summer with chilly weather. Friday and Saturday will have plenty of showers and maximums no higher than 20 degrees. Though there will be some periods of sunshine later on Saturday, according to Weeronline. Sunday will be the opposite, with sunshine during the day and cloud cover and showers by the evening.
Quite a few showers are moving across the Netherlands on Friday, which can mean heavy rain in some places, occasionally accompanied by hail and thunderstorms. The westerly to northwesterly wind is moderate to fairly strong in the coastal areas. Maximums will climb to around 19 to 20 degrees, noticeably lower than the 21 to 25 degrees typical for the first day of August.
Saturday will see heavy showers in the morning, moving away eastward in the afternoon. Many places will be dry and sunny on Saturday afternoon. “A moderate northwesterly wind will blow, fairly strong at sea, and temperatures will not exceed 20 degrees Celsius, thus maintaining fairly cool summer weather,” Weeronline said.
Sunday will see much better weather for outdoor activities. “The day starts dry with plenty of sunshine.” Though cloud cover will return from the west in the afternoon, followed by more showers in the evening. Maximums will climb to around 21 degrees, with some places even seeing thermometers hit 23 degrees.
