Showers to briefly give way to drier, warmer weather on Thursday; More rain this weekend
The current mix of clouds, some sunshine, and showers across the Netherlands will persist on Wednesday, but give way to drier, sunnier, and warmer weather on Thursday and Friday. After that, it’s back to showers, according to the KNMI.
This afternoon will see more and more cloud cover from the southwest, bringing showers and the occasional thunderstorm along with it. Maximums will range between 21 degrees on the coast and 24 degrees in the southeast. The wind will be moderate, strong on the west coast, and blowing from the west to southwest.
Tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy with showers across the country. In the northwest, the showers may develop into thunderstorms by late evening. Heavy rainfall of 20 to 40 mm is possible overnight.
Tomorrow morning will be cloudy with continued heavy showers. In the afternoon, the eastern half of the country will still have showers, but the west will be dry with occasional sunshine. Maximums will climb to around 20 degrees with a mostly moderate wind from the west to northwest.
Thursday and Friday will see mostly dry weather with temperatures rising to summery levels (25 degrees or higher) on Friday. “There will be an increasing chance of rain or thunderstorms over the weekend,” the KNMI said. “The transition to changeable and less warm weather will probably take place on Sunday or Monday.”
