More showers, lower temperatures in Netherlands this weekend

After a week of extremely hot weather, the Netherlands is currently in calm and pleasant summer weather. That will give way to more showers and lower temperatures this weekend, Weeronline expects.

Friday will be dry, sunny, and pleasantly warm with maximums ranging between 22 and 26, north to south.

On Saturday, the cloud cover will start to seep in. The south and east may still see some sunshine in the morning, but by the afternoon, there will be clouds everywhere, along with occasional showers. Maximums will range between 18 and 23 degrees, with a westerly wind that’s moderate inland and fairly strong at sea.

“On the second day of the weekend, a raincoat or umbrella will not be an unnecessary luxury,” Weeronline said. There will be showers across the country. “Very locally, a thunderstorm cannot be completely ruled out, and there could be quite a bit of rainwater.” Maximums will be around 20 degrees, a bit cooler in the rain, with a strong southwesterly wind.

Next week will start wet and cool for the time of year, with maximums between 18 and 20 degrees. Typical maximums for early July are between 20 and 24 degrees. Halfway through the week, the showers will disappear and the sun will get more space. Temperatures will climb higher again, with many places inland reaching summery values of 25 degrees or higher.
