Three arrested in Sweden, Germany for triple homicide in Noord-Brabant city
The police arrested three suspects in connection with a triple murder in Oosterhout at the end of March. The suspects are Swedish and were arrested in Germany and Sweden, the police said on Wednesday.
The murders happened at around 4:00 p.m. on March 28. There were multiple shootings on Loevesteinlaan in Oosterhout. Two 32-year-old men from Oosterhout died shortly after the shootings. The third victim, a 25-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital about a month later.
The three suspects were arrested during the early hours of Wednesday morning. Working with the Swedish and German police, the police detained a 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman in Sweden, as well as a 28-year-old man in Germany.
They are suspected of involvement in the triple homicide. The suspects are in restricted custody, which means that they are only allowed contact with their lawyers. It is not yet clear when they will be extradited to the Netherlands.
The police haven’t said anything about a possible motive for the fatal shootings. The family of one of the victims believes their loved one was killed by mistake, that he was not the intended target of the attack.
