Man dies after being shot inside Vlissingen supermarket, suspect arrested

A man died in a shooting inside a supermarket on Papegaaienburg in Vlissingen following a conflict involving multiple people, police said Saturday. "Despite all medical help, the victim has just died," the police wrote on X.

Authorities arrested one suspect in connection with the shooting. The incident was witnessed by several people and occurred inside the supermarket. The identity of the suspect and the motive for the shooting have not yet been disclosed.

The victim was being resuscitated on the scene after sustaining life-threatening injuries. A police spokesperson first said his condition was “critical.”

Multiple police units were deployed to the scene for investigation. Officers cordoned off the area and questioned witnesses inside and around the supermarket.
