Musicians Yves Berendse and Roxy Dekker win Buma Awards in Amsterdam
Yves Berendse won the Buma Award Nationaal on Monday evening. The singer’s song Terug in de Tijd was the best-selling and most-played song of 2024 in the Netherlands. Alibi by Sevdaliza, a collaboration between Brazilian musician Pabllo Vittar and Yseult from France, was the most-played song internationally.
The music awards for composers, lyricists, and their publishers were awarded at the Internationaal Theater Amsterdam. The Buma Awards Nationaal and Internationaal are for composers and lyricists who created the most successful singles of the year.
Many Dutch songs made the top 20 most-played songs in the Netherlands. Four of Roxy Dekker’s songs made the list, with Sugardaddy coming the highest at second place. The rest of the top 5, which also ensures that the artist receives an award, was Nothing to Lose by Douwe Bob, Pretty Girls by Frenna, and the Eurovision song Europapa by Joost Klein.
This year, jury prizes were also awarded, which had already been announced in the run-up to the ceremony. Martin Garrix received the Golden Harp, the Lifetime Achievement went to Jacqueline Govaert, and Boudewijn de Groot was honored with the Lennaert Nijgh Prize.
