Arson suspected in large fire at Utrecht gym

A large fire broke out at a gym in an industrial area of Utrecht early Saturday morning. Police are "strongly suspecting" that the blaze may have been deliberately set, according to Reformatorisch dagblad.

The fire was reported around 2:30 a.m. and caused extensive damage to the gym located on Ambachtsweg. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the gym itself suffered significant destruction.

The gym is situated within a business complex. Other businesses in the building experienced smoke damage, though the fire department confirmed that the rest of the structure remained mostly intact.

Authorities are closely investigating the possibility of arson and are treating it as a serious line of inquiry.
