Warm, sunny days ahead for the Netherlands as temperatures climb
The Netherlands is set for a week of sunny spring weather, with dry conditions, abundant sunshine, and rising temperatures expected across the country, according to weeronline.
At the start of the week, temperatures will range between 19 and 23 degrees, with clear skies and very few clouds. As the week progresses, the mercury will climb even higher. On Thursday, the southeast of the country could experience summer-like conditions, with temperatures reaching up to 25 degrees.
The forecast suggests it will be warm enough to set up inflatable pools in gardens. In other parts of the country, temperatures are expected to hover between 22 and 24 degrees, making it excellent weather for outdoor activities.
Along the coast, the highest temperatures will be reached early in the afternoon. Later in the day, a sea breeze typically develops, causing temperatures to drop and bringing noticeably cooler conditions. This phenomenon, common in spring when the land heats up faster than the still-cold sea, will make coastal areas cooler by the afternoon and evening.
The forecast also warns of strong sunshine throughout the week. With a UV index of 5, individuals without proper sun protection can get sunburned within 20 to 30 minutes. Experts advise taking protective measures, such as using parasols, wearing appropriate clothing, and applying sunscreen regularly, to prevent skin damage during these very sunny days.
At the beginning of the week, a northeasterly wind will dominate, but by Thursday, the wind will gradually shift to a northwesterly direction. This change will bring in more humid air, resulting in increased cloud cover and a higher chance of showers, according to weeronline. Temperatures are expected to drop over the weekend as a result of the shifting weather conditions.
