Red Cross provides aid at 110 events across the Netherlands for King’s Day celebrations

Volunteers from the Red Cross are present at 110 events across the Netherlands on King’s Day, providing first aid, water, and a place for celebrants to rest, the organization announced. The volunteers will be stationed at various locations, offering essential support for those participating in the nationwide celebrations.

The Red Cross has issued a warning to the public ahead of the sunny weather forecasted for King’s Day. Organizers advised people to protect themselves from the sun by applying sunscreen and staying hydrated throughout the day, particularly in light of the warm temperatures expected during outdoor festivities.

The city of Amsterdam expects significant crowds during King’s Day and has issued a plea to visitors from outside the city not to come. Residents of Amsterdam are encouraged to celebrate within their own neighborhoods to manage the expected high volume of people. This move aims to reduce congestion and ensure public safety amid the busy festivities.

In addition to Amsterdam, other major cities like Utrecht and Eindhoven are also expected to see high levels of activity on King’s Day. With large crowds anticipated, local authorities in these cities have made preparations to handle the busy celebrations.
