Airport parking increased in price again last year; Schiphol most expensive
Parking at the airport is becoming increasingly expensive. Just as the previous years, the parking prices at the airports have risen again, the website Vliegveldinfo.nl reported. The website compared the prices at 16 of the most used airports in the Netherlands and Belgium.
According to the website, Schiphol was the most expensive airport when it comes to parking out of the airports that were researched. The average price to park at Schiphol is 98.50 euros for a weekend, and 128.50 euros for a week. That is 6 and 7.50 euros more expensive than the last time it was checked in the spring of 2024.
When it comes to parking for a week, the airports in Dusseldorf and Antwerp are slightly more expensive than Schiphol, but a shorter parking session is cheaper at these airports.
Groningen Airport Eelde was the cheapest out of the 16 airports that were researched, with prices of 25 euros and 52.50 euros.
On average, the price for a weekend parking, or three days, is 56 euros. That is an increase of 1.90 euro compared to a year ago. The average parking costs for a week, for eight days, is 88 euros. This has also increased compared to last year when it was 82 euros.
Guus Wantia, the owner of Vliegveldinfo.nl, made a side note about the comparison. According to him, the prices should not be the only thing considered. “The price is an important factor, but the location cannot be underestimated. In some cases, you lose almost half an hour in walking from the parking spot to the bus stop for the shuttle bus and then the bus trip to the terminal. In addition, it is no longer the case that any shuttle bus can be used free of charge."
