Sunny spring weather in Netherlands this week; Thermometers to hit 20 on Thursday
Netherlands residents can look forward to a week filled with sunshine and increasingly warm temperatures. Thermometers will top 20 degrees inland on Thursday, the meteorological institute KNMI expects.
Monday started cloudy, but will clear up from the west during the course of the morning. By the afternoon, the coastal provinces will have abundant sunshine while the inland will have an about equal mix of clouds and sun. No rain is expected. Maximums will rise to between 9 degrees in the Wadden area and 15 degrees in the south, with a moderate wind from the north.
Overnight will see fog in the north and center of the country and minimums dropping to around freezing. The wind will be weak to moderate and from the northeast.
On Tuesday, the morning sun will make quick work of dispersing the clouds. The rest of the day will also be sunny. Maximums will climb to between 12 degrees in the Wadden and 17 degrees in the south, with a moderate wind from the northeast.
The rest of the week will be “sunny, dry, and gradually warmer, with temperatures of around 20 degrees inland on Thursday,” the KNMI said.
The weather will turn colder again from the weekend. “Slightly less sun, but mostly dry,” according to the meteorological institute.
