Feyenoord fires head coach Brian Priske citing inconsistent results
Feyenoord has fired head coach Brian Priske immediately, citing inconsistent results and a lack of chemistry as key reasons for his dismissal. The club also announced that assistant coaches Lukas Babalola Andersson and Björn Hamberg will leave the organization.
The decision comes ahead of Feyenoord’s Champions League match against AC Milan on Wednesday. The club expects to appoint an interim coaching staff by Tuesday.
"Although Feyenoord has achieved some notable results with Brian in the Champions League, the past few months have been too inconsistent, and we have seen insufficient structural progress," said Dennis te Kloese, the club's general and technical director.
"It is disappointing for all parties to have come to this decision. I still hold Brian in high regard as a professional and a person. However, sometimes you have to conclude that, despite everyone’s good intentions, it simply doesn’t work. At some point, there isn’t enough support to continue," te Kloese said.
