Man seriously injured in assault at Django Wagner concert
A man was seriously injured Sunday night in an assault during a performance by singer Django Wagner. The attack took place in a tent outside café De Zwaan in Son en Breugel. The victim was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.
According to witnesses, the man may have been robbed, but police have not confirmed this. He sustained head injuries, possibly from a sharp object, and was unresponsive when emergency services arrived. A trauma helicopter was dispatched to the scene.
The area around the tent and café was crowded, with many people under the influence of alcohol. “The atmosphere was tense,” police said. One man was arrested for failing to comply with police orders.
The victim was transported to the Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital in Tilburg. Authorities sealed off the tent for forensic investigation and interviewed witnesses.
