Residents allowed to return home after explosion in Rotterdam

Residents of an apartment building on Franselaan in the Oud-Mathenesse neighborhood of Rotterdam have been allowed to return home after an explosion early Saturday caused significant damage to several front doors, according to police.

The suspect, arrested on Saturday morning, was released. While the man was initially detained in connection with the shooting, police later stated he is no longer a suspect.

The explosion led to the temporary evacuation of several residents, who were housed by the municipality. Despite the "considerable damage," police confirmed that all residents could safely return to their homes.

Authorities have not established any links between the explosion and the earlier gunfire. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made in relation to the explosion.
