Stylist convicted of sexually abusing model during café shoot in Breda

A stylist was sentenced to two days in prison for sexually assaulting a model during a photoshoot in a café in Breda. The incident, which occurred nearly eight years ago, was described in court as the stylist acting on his "sexual urges," according to the Breda District Court’s ruling.

The model, who was excited for her first paid assignment, said the shoot quickly turned into a “horror experience.” The stylist smeared her with a cream and groped her breasts under the guise of "styling," court records show.

The stylist told the model the cream would make her "radiant," but his behavior escalated. According to the woman, he made inappropriate comments, saying, “Wow, every man would lust after your body” and “Your breasts are perfect.”

During the shoot, the stylist reportedly pulled down the model’s strapless dress, leaving her topless in the café. He also threatened her, saying she would be held responsible for the shoot’s costs if she refused to cooperate.

Other witnesses at the shoot also noted the stylist’s unprofessional behavior. Another model contacted the agency to report his intimidating demeanor. The photographer at the scene told police the stylist would adjust models’ breasts if he felt they were not positioned correctly.

“He was grabbing and touching in ways that were not appropriate,” the photographer said. “We thought it was odd and advised the models to speak up or leave.”

The stylist, who now resides in Indonesia, was not present in court. Through his attorney, he denied forcing the model to participate or touching her inappropriately. He claimed the woman could have applied the cream herself if she was uncomfortable.

The court acknowledged the lengthy delay in the case, which remained unresolved for nearly eight years. The stylist’s lawyer also revealed that he is terminally ill and has less than a year to live, which was taken into account during sentencing.

Despite the time lapse, the court ruled that the stylist’s actions were inappropriate and caused significant distress to the model.

The model, who says the incident derailed her modeling career, sought 13,000 euros in damages for both material and emotional harm. The court awarded her 2,400 euros.
