Body of missing Polish man found in Oude IJssel
The body of a 20-year-old man from Poland, missing for over a month, was found in the Oude IJssel near Laag-Keppel on Wednesday, according to reports from local emergency services. The man was last seen on November 23 on the Oude IJsselbrug in Doetinchem. A passerby discovered the body on Christmas Day.
The man disappeared after sending a video to friends around 12:30 a.m. that night. His phone was later found on the bridge barrier, as noted in a community Facebook group. Following his disappearance, police conducted extensive searches, deploying specialized dredging teams, but found no trace of him until now.
“The deceased was found in the Oude IJssel near Laag-Keppel. We have confirmed his identity and ruled out any criminal activity. Due to privacy reasons, we will not provide further information,” the police said on X.
