Three found dead in Dutch waters; Police investigating suspicious death in Zaandam
The police found two men dead in a canal in Krommenie on Sunday afternoon. The body of another person washed up on the beach between Castricum and Heemskerk. The police are also investigating the death of a man in Zaandan last week Sunday.
The police responded to the Noordervaartdijk in Krommenie at around 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, after receiving a report of people in the water. They quickly located the bodies of two men.
Investigation showed that no crime had been committed, the police said on Monday. The victims are two men from Zaandam, aged 55 and 56. “We wish their loved ones a lot of strength,” the Noord-Holland police said on X.
Passersby found the body of another person on the beach between Castricum and Heemskerk on Monday morning. The body was found between markers 46 and 48. The police are investigating and trying to identify the person, NH reported. They may have washed up from the ocean.
The police are also investigating the death of a 61-year-old man in Zaandam on Sunday, December 8. Passersby found the man unwell on the street on Hof van Blois between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. Paramedics rushed the man to the hospital, where he died on Friday, December 13.
“The victim appeared to have serious injuries,” the police said. “Due to the suspicion of a possible crime, the police were called in.” Investigators asked witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward.
