Police complete investigation at location of explosion that killed 6 in The Hague
The police investigation at the location of the explosion on the Tarwekamp in The Hague last Saturday has been completed. The location will now be handed over to the municipality. Several buildings collapsed due to explosions on Saturday morning on the street in the neighborhood of Mariahoeve. Other buildings were also severely damaged. Six people lost their lives, and several people were injured because of the incident.
The municipality announced earlier on Thursday that the emergency order to stay away from the site of the explosions will not be extended. The Hague’s mayor, Jan van Zanen, issued the emergency order on Saturday so that the emergency services could do their work without any distractions or hindrances. The order ends at 9 a.m. on Friday.
There will also be guest houses available for victims of the explosions, from Friday. According to the municipality, 14 households have indicated that they need a house.
It was announced on Thursday that a fourth arrest had been made in connection with the explosion. The other three suspects were arrested on Monday evening. Police have not ruled out making more arrests.
It has been reported that the explosion was targeting a bridal shop on the ground floor.
