Multiple outages impacting train traffic between Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam
Traveling to and from Schiphol Airport by train will be a bit of an issue on Tuesday morning as multiple outages are impacting train traffic to the airport. No trains are running between Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena and between Schiphol and Duivendrecht, and fewer Sprinters are running between the airport and Amsterdam Sloterdijk, NS reported.
The issue between Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA is a power outage at the Amsterdam RAI station, a ProRail spokesperson told ANP. ProRail is investigating what’s going on. NS expects the problems to last through the morning rush hour.
NS also reported that no trains were running between Schiphol Airport and Duivendrecht due to “multiple outages.” This issue is expected to last until mid-day on Wednesday at least.
And a broken switch is impacting train traffic between Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Schiphol. Fewer Sprinter trains are running on this route until at least 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, NS said.
Travelers between the Dutch capital and the airport are advised to use the Amsterdam metro or buses between Amsterdam Amstel and Diemen Zuid and to check the travel planner before departing to the station.
