Ajax plan more sales after confirming midfielder's departure; rumors of Ziyech's return
Ajax is set for a busy last few days before the Dutch transfer window closes. There are rumors that winger Hakim Ziyech could be returning to the club. The Amsterdammers also announced the sale of Silvano Vos to AC Milan, with Carlos Forbs and Benjamin Tahirovic also potentially leaving the club.
It was reported by the Athletic that English side Wolverhampton Wanderers have made an offer to sign the young Portuguese winger, but it was not reported what the fee was. Ajax are hoping to receive 15 million euros for Forbs, who joined the club a year ago from Manchester City. The move would have to happen quickly as the English transfer window shuts at 1 a.m. on August 30.
The sale of Forbs could open the door for Hakim Ziyech's return. Foot Mercato reported that the Moroccan winger would like to return to the club he played for from 2016 to 2020, winning a league title and a Dutch cup during that time. Ziyech is currently on the bench for Galatasaray in Turkey and is not favored by the team's manager, Okan Buruk.
Ajax confirmed the sale of Silvano Vos to AC Milan in Italy on Friday. The 19-time Italian league champions spent five million on the 19-year-old. Vos made his debut for the first team last season after going through the club's youth system.
Another young midfielder could also be leaving the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Benjamin Tahirovic has attracted interest from FC Copenhagen. Tahirovic is part of a group of players deemed surplus to requirements by newly appointed Ajax manager Francesco Farioli.
The transfer window in the Netherlands and Denmark closes on September 2, meaning the clubs have some time to negotiate the deal for the Bosnian.
