Transfer deadline day: PSV, Ajax, and Feyenoord making signings before deadline

Tuesday is transfer deadline day in the top division of Dutch football, the Eredivisie. This means that this is the last day that players can be bought and in most cases, sold, for the Dutch clubs. The last few days have led to all the top teams in the country making moves, with some still scrambling for signings in the final hours before the window shuts which is midnight on Tuesday.

Feyenoord
The deal which will have the biggest effect on the Eredivisie came from Feyenoord. The Rotterdammers sold their star striker Santiago Gimenez to Italian team AC Milan for a reported fee of 42 million euros. The Mexican striker has scored 19 goals in the same amount of games. This included five goals in the UEFA Champions League, a vital contribution to his side advancing to the play off round in the competition.

The Rotterdammers made a late signing of Oussama Targhalline from French team Le Havre for just under a million euros. The club also made an offer of 15 million euros to Danish team Nordsjaelland for the 18-year-old winger Sindre Walle Egeli. But the offer was rejected as the transfer window has already closed in Denmark and therefore the team would not have been able to buy a replacement.

Ajax
It has been an eventful last few days for Ajax from Amsterdam. Francesco Farioli’s side took a huge stride in the title race in the Eredivisie on Sunday by beating Feyenoord in injury time, and the club has also been busy in the transfer window.

The Amsterdammers have sold eight players thus far in the window. Chuba Akpom and Diant Ramaj left the club in the last few days, Akpom joined OSC Lille on loan, while Ramaj made a move to Borussia Dortmund worth four million euros. In addition, Benjamin Tahirovic was sold to Danish club Bröndby IF for 2.75 million euros, and Naci Unuvar left the club to join FC Twente on a free.

Ajax announced the signing of Go Ahead Eagles winger Oliver Edvardsen for three million euros on Saturday and are close to completing the transfer of Brazilian right back Lucas Rosa from Spanish team Real Valladolid. The fee is expected to be three million euros with 500,000 euros in potential add-ons.

PSV
The Eindhoven team have made a significant profit in this window thus far, and are looking for an attacking signing going into the final hours. The Eindhovenaren earned 24 million euros in total by selling Hirving Lozano, Matteo Dams, and Joel Ndala this window and are trying to sign a forward with that money. A deal to sign Lazio winger Loum Tchaouna has reportedly fell through due to the Lazio manager wanting to keep the player. Reports claim that they have now set their sights on FC Utrecht winger Noah Ohio.

This is not the only deal that PSV are aiming to finalize on deadline day as the league leaders are close to confirming the purchase of former Feyenoord left back Tyrell Malacia from Manchester United. The deal will reportedly be a loan.

FC Twente
The transfer window has been a familiar story for FC Twente. Despite the fact that the Enschede team picked up a dramatic win a week ago to advance in the UEFA Europa League, it has been a story of selling players rather than signing them this window. The latest was leftback Anass Salah-Eddine, who joined AS Roma for eight million euros on deadline day. This came after the club had already sold Youri Regeer, Carel Eiting, and Mitchell van Bergen during the window. The Tukkers signed Taylor Booth from FC Utrecht as a replacement.
