Gambling authority bans ads from gambling site in Zandvoort during F1

The Netherlands Gambling Authority (Ksa) has "strongly requested" the organization of F1 and the racing team Sauber not to advertise the illegal gambling company Stake during the F1 races in Zandvoort this weekend. "Stake does not have a permit from the Ksa and are therefore not allowed to offer gambling in the Netherlands."

The Sauber Formula 1 team participates in most international races as the Stake F1 Team, an international gambling provider and the team's main sponsor.

"According to the gambling legislation, it is prohibited to offer gambling without a permit, to advertise illegal games of chance, or to promote participation in them," the Gaming Authority reports. "The Ksa finds it undesirable that illegal gambling is advertised at a Dutch event with the reach and size of Formula 1, also because the event attracts a lot of attention from vulnerable groups such as minors and young adults," the authority continues.
