One-year-old taken to hospital after falling out of window in Rotterdam

A one-year-old child fell out of a window on Tuesday at around 11:50 p.m. at a home in Mathenesserdijk, Rotterdam. The baby was transported to the hospital with severe injuries.

A representative from the police said the child fell from the building’s fourth floor, according to newswire ANP. The baby’s mother was inside the residence at the time of the incident.

Police officers are still investigating how the baby came to fall out of the window. Although the cause of the fall has not been determined, a police spokesperson told ANP it is not currently believed to be a case of foul play.

They have also said that anybody who saw the incident can report it to Victim Support Netherlands and are asking anybody with information regarding the incident to come forward.
