Enschede hits fmr. driving instructor with restraining order for harassing CBR employees
Mayor Roelof Bleker of Enschede has issued a restraining order against a former driving instructor from Neede in Gelderland, banning him from the area around the CBR examination center in Enschede. The man keeps following students taking their driving exams at the center while allegedly trying to expose abuses by the CBR, RTV Oost reports.
A few weeks ago, the CBR had to cancel three driving exams after the former instructor followed the exam cars during the exams. Last year, the CBR canceled all driving exams for a few days for the same reason. A total of 181 candidates were affected.
The man has his own website. On it, he claims that he follows exam cars at the examination center in order to expose abuses at the CBR. According to him, examiners favor the students of female instructors and thus treat other driving instructors, including himself, and their candidates unfairly.
He also said on his site that he disagrees with the restraining order. He said he’d adhere to it but will “push the boundaries.” He will also not give up his fight against the CBR, he said, adding that he may move his work area to CBR locations in Deventer, Arnhem, or Rijswijk.
According to RTV Oost, the court in Almelo previously sentenced the man to a conditional fine of 50 euros and a one-year probation period for harassing CBR employees. The man showed up at the CBR center in Enschede that same day.
