Sunny start to a summery week in the Netherlands; Temps up to 32 degrees tomorrow
Summer will be in full swing in the Netherlands this week. It will be sunny and dry, with temperatures up to 28 degrees today and 32 degrees tomorrow. Thermometers could also reach a tropical 30 degrees on Wednesday, but there is a chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Thursday will also be summery warm but with some showers, Weeronline reported.
Monday starts off with mostly clear blue skies throughout the Netherlands. Temperatures will rise rapidly, topping 20 degrees by mid-morning. A weak wind from the east brings warmer air into the country. Maximums will range between 24 degrees in the northwest and 28 degrees in the southeast. Optimal outside weather, according to Weeronline. However, the service warned that in the afternoon, a cool sea breeze can drop the temperatures considerably on the beaches, especially in the north and on the Wadden Islands.
This evening will also see mostly clear skies and little wind. It will eventually cool down to around 12 degrees in the northeast and 18 degrees in Zeeland.
Weeronline expects Tuesday to be the warmest day of the week. “It is sunny everywhere again, and the temperature will rise considerably.” Inland will reach tropical temperatures on a large scale, with maximums climbing to 30 degrees, maybe even 32 in Limburg. The coastal areas will be less warm but far from cold, with maximums between 26 and 29 degrees. The sea breeze may again make it feel colder in the afternoon. “The higher temperatures are accompanied by high humidity, which can make it feel a bit stuffy.”
Wednesday will also start off sunny, but more clouds will develop during the day. The wind will come from the northeast, bringing cooler air into the country. “However, it could still reach 30 degrees in the far south,” Weeronline said. Elsewhere in the country, maximums will climb to between 24 and 28 degrees, a bit less on the Wadden Islands and on the north coast. There is a chance of a thunderstorm in the south later in the day.
Thursday will see occasional showers, possibly with a thunderstorm. “However, the dry moments seem to predominate, and the sun will also shine regularly.” The northeasterly wind will be weak to moderate, and Weeronline expects maximums between 21 degrees on the Wadden Islands and 26 degrees in Limburg.
Friday and the weekend also seem to have a pretty good chance of nice summer weather, Weeronline said. “The chance of showers is somewhat greater, but large amounts certainly don’t seem to be on the cards. The sun remains in the weather pattern, and the temperature rises to 20 to 26 degrees every day,” the weather service said.
