Cop in custody for preparing to murder her ex
A 41-year-old woman from Gorinchem was arrested on June 5 for preparing to murder her ex-partner, the Public Prosecution Service (OM) reported on Thursday. She is still in custody. According to the Telegraaf, she is a police officer in Rotterdam.
Five other suspects have also been arrested in this case. A 19-year-old man from Ermelo and a 37-year-old man with no registered address are both still in custody. Two women, aged 42 and 19 from Gorinchem, and a minor have been released but are still suspects.
The OM did not release any further information, only saying that the arrests were not reported earlier “due to investigative interests.”
The police officer and 37-year-old man were in restricted custody until recently. That means that the suspects were only allowed contact with their lawyers, and the authorities had to be hesitant about communicating on the case.
The suspected cop appeared in court last week, and her pre-trial detention was extended by another 60 days.
