Three arrests for murder after statements made by key witness

The police arrested three men on Tuesday on suspicion of involvement in murders, an attempted murder, and preparing the murders in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. This was reported by the Public Prosecution Service on Tuesday. The men were arrested following statements made by a recently announced key witness.

One of the men in question is 30 years old, and the other two are 32. All three suspects are from Amsterdam.

The cases are regarding the murder of Ibrahim Azaïm on May 10, 2020, in Rotterdam, preparing a murder of a 39-year-old man in Rotterdam (this murder was ultimately not committed), and the murder of Serdar Ay on October 20, 2020, in Amsterdam and the shooting of a catering premises on July 29 on the Spuistraat in Amsterdam.

It was announced earlier this month by the justice department that an agreement was reached with a new key witness who will testify regarding several murders in exchange for a sentence reduction.

The key witness is Dominique K., who was convicted in 2022 for his involvement in the mistaken identity murder of Ay.
