24-year-old man injured in stabbing in Vlaardingen, suspect arrested

The police have arrested a suspect for a stabbing on Schoutplein in the center of Vlaardingen on Saturday evening. The arrest happened in Rotterdam-West. A 24-year-old man was injured in the stabbing on Saturday afternoon. The young victim fled bleeding into a supermarket and was resuscitated there, Rijnmond reported.

On Saturday, around 2 p.m., a stabbing was reported to the police on the Schoutplein in Vlaardingen. Several emergency services went to the scene and found the victim, a 24-year-old man, in a supermarket on the Veerplein. The victim was treated there by paramedics and then taken to hospital.

According to Rijnmond, the stabbing left a trail of blood through the streets of Vlaardingen. Blood splattered on the ground, especially in and around the Albert Heijn supermarket on Veerplein, where the injured 24-year-old fled.

Shortly after the incident, a suspect was arrested following a description. However, he proved not to be the wanted suspect and was released shortly after.

The police immediately launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and spoke to witnesses, ultimately leading to the arrest of the new suspect.
