Annoyance over two helicopters endlessly circling over Amsterdam
Two helicopters endlessly circling over Amsterdam on Sunday evening sparked annoyed reactions from many locals on social media. They called the helicopters too loud, too bright and active for far too long.
Inquiries by AT5 showed that the two helicopters were making recordings for the Amsterdam Music Festival, part of the Amsterdam dance event ADE. It involved a Redbull helicopter and a private one.
Website Flightradar 24 showed the helicopters flying countless laps over the city center.
The Amsterdam broadcaster received dozens of messages regarding the helicopters. There were also many comments on social media. "What a nuisance," one person said. Another said: "They've been disturbing the peace for a long time."
Capital C, a creative center involved in the recordings, told AT5 that locals were informed of the recordings in advance. "Flyers were handed out in advance and we discussed it in the neighborhoods," a spokesperson said. "A permit was also requested for this."
Really annoying helicopter has been hovering very, very close to the ground in Amsterdam right outside my apartment. I did some sleuthing because I geek out watching air traffic controllers... it's a private helicopter- & is that a red bull I see on the side? V curious. pic.twitter.com/FO1k27p4OZ

Mysterie wellicht opgelost. Er is een ADA eventjes van ‘bekende artiest’ in Capital C en dat wordt gefilmd. Kennelijk ook vanuit de lucht. Later zou het online moeten komen.
