Covid-19: Travel warning for parts of France tightened

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs escalated the travel warning for parts of France due to a significant increase in Covid-19 infections in those areas. The travel advice for areas around the French cities of Dijon, Lille and Rouen was escalated from code yellow to code orange.

A code orange travel advice means that all but absolutely necessary trips to the area are strongly discouraged - no recreational travel there is allowed. The French departments of la Côte-d'Or, la Seine-Maritime, le Nord, la Corse-du-Sud, and la Haute Corse moved from code yellow to code orange.

Code orange already applied around Paris for the departments of les Alpes Maritimes, les Bouches-du-Rhône, l'Essonne, le Gard, la Gironde, la Haute-Garonne, les Hauts-de-Seine, le Hérault, le Loiret, le Rhône, la Sarthe, la Seine-et-Marne, la Seine-Saint-Denis, le Val-de-Marne, le Val-d'Oise, le Var, le Vaucluse, and les Yvelines.

All travelers returning to the Netherlands from a code orange area must quarantine at home for 10 days.

The rest of France is covered by a code yellow warning, which means that recreational travel there is allowed, but travelers should be aware of safety risks and adhere to local coronavirus rules. Travelers returning from a code yellow area do not have to quarantine at home.
