Car crashes into gas station store; four arrested

A motorist caused havoc at De Vink gas station on the A20 highway near Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel during the early hours of Tuesday morning. The car crashed into the gas station's store. The four people who were in the car at the time of the incident, were arrested, the Waddinxveen-Zuidplas police said on social media. No one was injured.

The police responded to the BP gas station at around 2:00 a.m., after a report of a car crashing into the store, according to NU.nl. The people in the car fled on foot. Two of the four people were arrested in the gas station's parking area. The other two were arrested on a viaduct near the scene.

The extent of the damage caused is not yet known. Many of the shelves in the store were knocked over. The store is closed on Tuesday for clean up and repairs.

At around 0:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning, police officers saw a car drive away from the BP De Vink gas station without its lights on. The driver had no ID on him, gave the police a false name, and did not have a driver's license with him. The police gave him three fines. It is not clear whether this incident has anything to do with the car crashing into the gas station's store.
