Father and son arrested for drunken assault on mosque visitors

On Saturday night the police arrested a father and son on suspicion of committing assaults near the Al Hijra Mosque in Waddinxveen. The two suspects were under the influence of alcohol at the time, a police spokesperson said to newspaper AD.

According to the board of Stichting Islamistische Moskee Alhijra, the men insulted, threatened and assaulted mosque visitors. Multiple people were injured, the board said to AD. The police said one person was injured, according to the newspaper.

At least four people filed a declaration about the incident with the police.
