Bullet fired through apartment floor strikes neighbor; 2 arrested

New Year's celebrations took a bizarre turn in Rotterdam late afternoon Tuesday when a bullet pierced the ceiling of a woman's apartment, striking her in the arm. Police arrested the woman's upstairs neighbors, accusing them of firing a gun into their floor.

The incident was called in to police just after 6 p.m. First responders at the Rotterdam-Zuid scene treated the woman, then raided the upstairs apartment.

A 55-year-old woman was arrested along with a man, 45. Police found a firearm and an electroshock weapon.

The incident was one of several shootings that took place in Rotterdam during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Shots were fired in the air, at a cafe, and into a home.

Rapper Feis was killed in a gun-related incident earlier that day.
