Flaming engine forces plane back to Schiphol
An Air Arabia flight to Nador, Morocco had to return to Schiphol airport on Tuesday after its starboard engine caught fire. A passenger recorded flames coming out of the engine. According to Airport Webcams, it is believed that the fire was caused by a bird flying into the engine.
The Airbus A320 departed from Schiphol at around 7:00 p.m. and returned to the airport some 45 minutes later. The plane was vacated and checked over. The inspectors found damage to the right engine.
